Role Description

The Firm Operations Director position encompasses a wide range of activities with involvement in all phases of administration, overseeing personnel and client deliverables, finances, compliance and marketing. The Firm Operations Director puts the firm's needs first and works closely with the other directors on problem solving and decision making. This person is responsible for planning, distributing, organizing, directing and controlling the day-to-day operations of the firm, and for directing the implementation of firm policies as well as overseeing the tax practice’s filing process for all clients and returns.

Qualifications

Firm Operations Director should have 2+ years of previous experience at a CPA firm with an understanding of financial reporting & tax return filing processes. These are the core competencies: an ability to self-manage at a high level, effective communication skills, effective time management abilities, experience managing and overseeing other administrative staff and other employees. It is strongly recommended that the applicant have 4+ years’ experience using QuickBooks Online and other accounting experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing operations and/or practice management in a professional services firm
  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and     implement change
  • Experience leading teams and managing projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively within a team-based environment

Other Requirements:

  • This is a 97% remote position, one day in-office per month.
  • This position is hourly with an expected 20 hours per week to start

This role will grow into a full-time position between Q3 2024 and Q1 2025. The hourly compensation rate for this role is $50 USD. Upon transition to a full-time position, we are targeting a salary range of $85,000-$116,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to performance, external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.
